Christmas party
MORE than 80 people attended this year's Christmas Party, which was held on Tuesday 6th December at St Nicholas’s Church, Dyke Road. Entertainment was provided by the Brighton Vox Community Choir.
It was the ideal opportunity for members to catch up with friends old and new and to discuss the developers' dastardly plans for a high-rise hotel on the site of the old ice rink in one of that places that will be most severely affected.

Annual summer party
ONCE again the MCHA summer garden party was blest by great weather. It was an ideal day for an outdoor party with a southerly breeze taking the edge off the heat from the summer sun. The lovely lawns of the Brighton and Hove Girl's High School and the backdrop of the Old Vicarage provided the perfect setting.
About 80 people attended the event, sipping sauvignon and listening to the relaxed gentle classical music provided by the eminent local violinist Ellie Blackshaw and her trio. Among the faces in the crowd were the chair and vice chairman of the planning committee as well as the local Regency ward councillors.
Our chairman Jim Gowans welcomed the guests and thanked the committee, and in particular, Alan Legg for all their work in organising such a successful event.
Ella Kitcat, the daughter of local Regency ward councillors Ania and Jason Kitcat drew the raffle with grace and impartiality. Former Conservative councillor Averil Older, who has been a staunch friend of the association, walked off with one of the top raffle prizes--a much coveted bottle of 10-year old malt whisky.
